Save the Date to Celebrate the Grand Opening of Diamond Bar's New Library!
Planning, preparation and construction of Diamond Bar's new library have been in the works for almost two years, and the grand opening is scheduled for July 28, 2012. The current library has approximately 9,600 square and the beautiful new facility will have approximately 18,245 square feet. This outstanding library will have ample parking, a large community room, and many more books, materials and events.
That evening of July 28 at 6:30 p.m., the Friends of the Diamond Bar Library is planning a festive celebratory gala to mark this significant event! Chair Ruth Low promises a once-in-a-lifetime evening where you can enjoy a delicious dinner with music, wine, appetizers and dessert in the newly opened library building. Join us to show your support for literacy in our community and for the greatly improved new Diamond Bar Library. Tickets are $35 each and include a catered dinner, music and other surprises.
The new Diamond Bar Library is located at 21800 Copley Drive, Diamond Bar, CA 91765. Looking for Volunteers at Basically BOOKS
Are you looking for a great volunteer experience in Diamond Bar? Basically BOOKS, the Friends of the Diamond Bar Library non-profit bookstore, is a friendly place serving the community as a resource for school, work and pleasure reading at exceptionally low prices. Bookstore Manager Mary Hackett is planning to open a second location with the opening of the new Diamond Bar Library. She is actively looking for new volunteers to staff the present location at 23447 Golden Springs Road (near the intersection of Golden Springs and Diamond Bar Boulevard) and the new bookstore at the new Diamond Bar Library, 21800 Copley Drive (across from the AQMD Building).

Book discussions are held on the last Tuesday of each month. The July 25 selection is Falling Leaves by Adeline Yen Mah. The August 29 book will be Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman.
