13th Annual Librarian Appreciation Luncheon

On Wednesday, November 7 the Friends of the Diamond Bar Library hosted the 13th annual Librarian Appreciation Luncheon in the Windmill Room of the new Diamond Bar Library. This is an annual event to honor all of the librarians in our community. Superintendent Richard Martinez of the Pomona USD and Superintendent Dean Conklin of the Walnut USD joined the Friends along with Mayor Pro Tem Jack Tanaka and Councilmember Ron Everett to congratulate all of our school principals and librarians and our Los Angeles County librarians for their dedication to literacy.

Over sixty people enjoyed a festive lunch from the Mandarin Taste Restaurant and tours of the beautiful new Diamond Bar Library led by Community Library Manager Jesse Lanz and Librarians Julie McCasland and Josh Murray. The librarians especially enjoyed the sense of community and networking this luncheon provides.
