26th Annual Wine Soirée and Benefit Auctions

Planning is in full swing for our exciting 26th annual Wine Soirée on Sunday, April 14 from 4:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. Chairs Dana Cox, Nancy Lyons, Rick Rogers and Tony Torng are planning an exciting afternoon of community involvement with a souvenir wine glass, delicious food, wine and beer tasting along with interesting and desirable silent, book and live auctions. Through the generosity of many donors we have exciting prizes such as hotel stays, sports tickets, signed books, great raffle prizes and much more!

There will be music and entertainment around the theme "Lights, Action, AUCTION!" The Wine Soirée will be held at the Diamond Bar Center, 1600 Grand Avenue, Diamond Bar, CA. Ticket price is $65 - no one under 21 can be admitted. Tickets are available in Diamond Bar at Midas Muffler, 796 N. Diamond Bar Boulevard; Basically BOOKS at the Diamond Bar Library, 21800 Copley Drive; and Basically BOOKS at 23447 Golden Springs Drive.

Over the last 25 years, the Wine Soirée has earned the reputation as "the best party in town." So mark you new 2019 calendars with that special date of April 14 and join the fun - all in support of literacy and our own Diamond Bar Library.

Basically BOOKS, the Diamond Bar Friends of the Library's two non-profit bookstores, are friendly places serving the community as a resource for school, work and pleasure reading at exceptionally low prices.

Besides our regular store hours we have monthly buck-a-bag sidewalk sales held on the third Saturday of each month. There are even more great bargains to be found at the monthly sales. Visit us on March 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. are the upcoming sidewalk sales for the next few months.

Bookstore Manager Peggy Murphy is actively looking for new volunteers to staff both locations at 23447 Golden Springs Road (near the intersection of Golden Springs and Diamond Bar Boulevard) and the bookstore at the Diamond Bar Library, 21800 Copley Drive (across from the AQMD Building).

All proceeds from both Basically BOOKS directly benefit the Diamond Bar Library. Gift certificates are available and make great birthday or special occasion gifts.

Did you know that Basically BOOKS offers some special books online? Interested? Here is how you do it.

If you use Amazon for your online shopping, please consider using "Amazon Smile." That's an Amazon program by which Amazon will donate 0.5% of your purchase amount to your designated charity.

It's easy to use - when you go online be sure to start at smile.amazon.com and then designate "Diamond Bar Friends of the Library" as your charitable organization. Amazon does the rest. Same great products, prices and services. AND, the Library benefits.
