Wine Soirée

Notice – Cancellation of 2020 Soirée

Dear Friends – due to the current situation with the COVID-19 virus, the Friends of the Library have had to cancel the Wine Soirée and Benefit Auction for 2020. We regret having to take this action, and we sincerely hope that you, your family and friends successfully weather the current challenges and will be able to join us in 2021 to celebrate our next Soirée.

Soirée a Paris

The Wine Soirée and Benefit Auction is an annual fund raiser produced by the Diamond Bar Friends of the Library to support our library. This wonderful event is traditionally held on a Sunday afternoon from 4 to 7 pm at the Diamond Bar Center.

The Soirée provides guests the opportunity to: sample wines from around the world, beers from a local sponsor, food provided by numerous local restaurants, to bid on live, silent and book auctions and to purchase raffle tickets for dozens of prizes. Guests enjoy the music and fun in the air conditioned comfort of the ballroom of the Diamond Bar Center, located at the top of Summitridge Park and with sweeping views of the San Gabriel Valley.

Each guest is provided a souvenir wine glass and is free to sample as many of the wines as they care to; likewise the food provided by our restaurant sponsors. Guests are encouraged to circulate throughout the room, nibbling and sipping amongst the silent auction tables and the wine, beer and restaurant tables. Hightop cocktail tables are available inside the ballroom as are regular tables and chairs on the outside veranda on the west side of the Diamond Bar Center. Chairs are also available in front of the ballroom stage, where the live auction takes place.

Water, coffee and iced teas are also provided for the enjoyment of guests. “California casual” attire is suggested, although guests will not feel out of place in a coat and tie or in jeans and aloha shirts. Comfortable shoes are highly recommended. Parking is free and the main lot is on the north side of the Diamond Bar Center, with a large overflow lot located a short distance away on the Center’s west side.

Guests must be 21 or older to attend the Soirée. Our reception desk volunteers will ask to see proof of age if you appear to be less than 21.

The Friends are a registered 501(c)3 tax exempt organization, our tax ID number is 95-4611640. All funds raised by the Soirée go to the support of the library and literacy in the community. All Soirée staff are volunteers (and each also purchases a ticket) and all auction items are donated, as are all the beverages and food provided. Guests are encouraged to enjoy the Soirée, and to please be as generous as you can!
